Rise Against - Help Is On The Way

Song: Help Is On The Way
Artist: Rise Against
Album: Endgame

Rise Against is an American punk rock band from Chicago, Illinois.

Now I know I did a Rise Against song on here not that long ago, but today (January 25th) Rise Against released a new song Help Is On the Way. The song is the first single off of their upcoming new album, which will be their sixth studio album. The album is called Endgame and is set to be released on March 15th 2011. Rise Against are known for their politically charged and socially concious lyrics and this song follows that theme as well. I think the song is about the BP oil spill. About the loss of life and the pollution caused by the oil spill. About a tragedy caused by corporations trying to make more money at the cost of the environment and human lives. Also about government officials who make false reasurances that everything is fine when in fact it's not. I like the guitar and drums on this song. The lyrics are amazing. I think Rise Against has done a great job on this song, I love it, and I can't wait until Endgame comes out.

"Help Is On The Way"

I have my mother's dreams,
I have my father's eyes,
You can't take that from me,
Just go ahead and try.
The cursed city sleeps,
Watch giants in the sky,
Preparing to unleash,
Let loose a mighty cry.

Can nobody save us?
Will anyone try?
The pyre is burning,
The severance is dying.
And all along they say it.

Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
Hold my hand to help see.
Right there in front of me.
Help is on the way.

Five thousand feet below,
As black smoke engulfs the sky,
The ocean floor explodes,
Eleven mothers cry.
My bones all resonate,
A burning lullaby,
You can't take that from me,
Just go ahead and try.

She says that's the shoreline,
With hands in the air,
Her words miss the dark light,
Does anyone care?
And all along they say it.

Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
Hold my hand, to help see.
Right there in front of me.
Help is on the way.

Right here! Right here! [x3]

Choking on the black gold,
Upon which we rely,
We keep actions in the attics,
To see cameras in the sky.

Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
Help is on the way
(They said, they said)

We were told just to sit tight,
Cause somebody will soon arrive.
Help is on the way.
But it never came!
It never came!

Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
Hold my hand, to help see.
Right there in front of me.
Help is on the way.
On the way.

Apocalyptica - I Don't Care

Song: I Don't Care
Artist: Apocalyptica (Featuring Adam Gontier of Three Days Grace)
Album: Worlds Collide

Apocalyptica is a metal band from Helsinki, Finland.

I first got into Apocalytica when I heard that Adam Gontier the lead singer of Three Days Grace sang on their song I Don’t Care. Apocalyptica is made up of three classically trained cellists and a drummer. They started out playing covers of Metallica songs on their cellos and then began writing originals. Apocalyptica has no singer and the majority of their songs have no lyrics. When an Apocalyptica song does have lyrics it is sung by a guest singer, in this case Adam Gontier. Lyrically I think the song is about trying to get past a bad, unhealthy, possibly abusive relationship with a significant other, relative or friend, and also maybe about the anger felt towards that person for the lies they told and the shit they put you through. I think it's about leaving or walking away from a relationship with someone who does nothing but hurt you and maybe telling that person to go to hell and that you don't need to take their shit anymore. About deciding that you don’t need that person in your life because they aren’t worth the pain they cause you. I love Apocalyptica’s sound, an amazing mixture of classical and metal music, and I also love Adam Gontier’s voice. Put them together and it’s great times two.

"I Don't Care"

I try to make it through my life
In my way
There's you
I try to make it through these lies
And that's all I do

Just don't deny it
Don't try to fight this
And deal with it
And that's just part of it

If you were dead or still alive
I don't care
I don't care
Just go and leave this all behind
Cause I swear (I swear)
I don't care

I try to make you see my side
I always try to stay in line
But your eyes see right through
That's all they do

Getting buried in this place
I got no room you're in my face
Don't say anything
Just go away

If you were dead or still alive
I don't care
I don't care
Just go and leave this all behind
'cause I swear (I swear)
I don't care

[x2]
I'm changing everything
You won't be there for me

If you were dead or still alive,
I don't care,
I don't care,
Just go and leave this all behind
'cause I swear (I swear)
I don't care

If you were dead or still alive,
I don't care
I don't care
And all the things you left behind
I don't care (I swear)
I don't care
At all

Evanescence - Everybody's Fool

Song: Everybody's Fool
Artist: Evanescence
Album: Fallen

Evanescence is an American rock band from Little Rock, Arkansas.

The song Everybody's Fool is about being fake. It's about people (especially famous people) pretending to be someone they're not and/or trying to appear perfect. The song is about people who project an untrue image of themselves and sell that image to people who often idolize that fake image. Lead singer Amy Lee's inspiration for the song came after seeing her younger sister who was really into pop singers. It's about how celebrities and pop stars are often fooling people into beleiving that they are something they're not. And about how people will worship and blindly follow celebrity. I love Evanescence's rock sound and their use of piano. I really love this songs' sound and message.

"Everybody's Fool"

perfect by nature
icons of self-indulgence
just what we all need
more lies about a world that

never was and never will be
have you no shame? Don't you see me?
you know you've got everybody fooled

look here she comes now
bow down and stare in wonder
oh how we love you
no flaws when you're pretending
but now I know she

never was and never will be
you don't know how you've betrayed me
and somehow you've got everybody fooled

without the mask where will you hide?
can't find yourself lost in your lie

I know the truth now
I know who you are
and I don't love you anymore

it never was and never will be
you don't know how you've betrayed me
and somehow you've got everybody fooled

it never was and never will be
you're not real and you can't save me
somehow now you're everybody's fool

Linkin Park - Nobody's Listening

Song: Nobody's Listening
Artist: Linkin Park
Album: Meteora

Linkin Park is an American rock band from California.

I think the song Nobody's Listening is about trying to tell someone something and they aren't getting it. I think it's also about doing something your own way but people don't understand what you're doing or why you're doing it. About people expecting or wanting a person or band to stay the same when they need to grow and change. About automatically disliking something because it's different without really giving it a chance. The combination of Chester Bennington's singing and Mike Shinoda's rapping is really great, their voices work really well together. Nobody's Listening has a Japanese flute called a shakuhachi in the song, I love the sound this creates. Altogether I think this is a great song.

"Nobody’s Listening"

Yo, peep the style and the kids checking for it
The number one question is how could you ignore it
We drop right back in the cut over basement tracks
With raps that got you backing this up like
Rewind that we're just rolling with the rhythm
Rise from the ashes of stylistic division
With these non-stop lyrics of life living
Not to be forgotten but still unforgiven
But in the meantime there are those who wanna talk this and that
So I suppose that it gets to a point where feelings gotta get hurt
And get dirty with the people spreading the dirt

it goes

[Chorus]
(Tried to give you warning but everyone ignores me)
Told you everything loud and clear
(But nobody’s listening)
(Called to you so clearly but you don’t want to hear me)
Told you everything loud and clear
(But nobody’s listening)

I got a heart full of pain, head full of stress
handfull of anger, held in my chest
And everything left’s a waste of time
I hate my rhymes, but hate everyone else’s more
I’m riding on the back of this pressure
Guessing that it’s better I can’t keep myself together
Because all of this stress gave me something to write on
The pain gave me something I could set my sights on
Never forget the blood sweat and tears
The uphill struggle over years the fear and
Trash talking and the people it was to
And the people that started it just like you

[Chorus]
(Tried to give you warning but everyone ignores me)
Told you everything loud and clear
(But nobody’s listening)
(Called to you so clearly but you don’t want to hear me)
Told you everything loud and clear
(But nobody’s listening)

I got a heart full of pain, head full of stress
handfull of anger, held in my chest
Uphill struggle
Blood sweat and tears
Nothing to gain
Everything to fear

Heart full of pain, head full of stress
handfull of anger, held in my chest
Uphill struggle
Blood sweat and tears
Nothing to gain
Everything to fear

Heart full of pain

[Chorus]
(Tried to give you warning but everyone ignores me)
Told you everything loud and clear
(But nobody’s listening)
(Called to you so clearly but you don’t want to hear me)
Told you everything loud and clear
(But nobody’s listening)

I got a heart full of pain, head full of stress
(Nobody’s listening)
handfull of anger, held in my chest
(Nobody’s listening)
Uphill struggle
Blood sweat and tears
(Nobody’s listening)
Nothing to gain
Everything to fear
(Nobody’s listening)

Coming at you from every side

Three Days Grace - I Hate Everything About You

Song: I Hate Everything About You
Artist: Three Days Grace
Album: Three Days Grace

Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The song I Hate Everything About You was one of the first songs I heard by Three Days Grace. The song is about a love-hate relationship. A relationship where a person is doing/saying something(s) that hurt you, yet you still love them, even if you can't really explain or even understand yourself why you still love them. The lyrics of the song seem to be about a significant other, but this dynamic can happen in almost any type of relationship. The music video for the song shows a boy with an alcoholic and abusive father, a girl who feels used by her boyfriend and a boy who's girlfriend is cheating on him. The song starts with an acoustic guitar and builds up to a loud hard-rock song. I Hate Everything About You was the first single off of Three Days Grace's debut album. I love this song.

"I Hate Everything About You"

Every time we lie awake
After every hit we take
Every feeling that I get
But I haven't missed you yet

Every roommate kept awake
By every sigh and scream we make
All the feelings that I get
But I still don't miss you yet

Only when I stop to think about it

I hate everything about you
Why do I love you
I hate everything about you
Why do I love you

Every time we lie awake
After every hit we take
Every feeling that I get
But I haven't missed you yet

Only when I stop to think about it

I hate everything about you
Why do I love you
I hate everything about you
Why do I love you

Only when I stop to think
About you, I know
Only when you stop to think
About me, do you know

I hate everything about you
Why do I love you
You hate everything all about me
Why do you love me

I hate
You hate
I hate
You love me

I hate everything about you
Why do I love you
